Everybody's Got a Laughing Place.

I have been waiting for this. I cannot explain the joy it gives me to hear Madison's little baby giggles. Danny and I made her laugh for about 15 minutes last night. If you listen closely it sounds like Madi has a permanent bubble in her throat when she laughs.

It was totally worth the wait.

Madison is happy as a clam as long as we play with her, but the moment we stand up or leave her she begins acting like this....I blame it on everyone giving her too much attention.

Dallas Texas

Danny is officially an intern at PricewaterhouseCoopers from January till April. We packed up only what we could fit in our car and drove through snowy, ice-packed roads 14 of the 25 hour drive it took us to get here. This Texas sign was a welcomed sight by all three of us.

Someone told us that Texas isn't really "The Lone Star State" but it is actually "The Friendly State". And I believe it. The first night we were here we got stuck in a muddy patch of grass and couldn't get out. Not even 10 minutes later a real Texan pulled us out of the mud. When I thanked him he told us with a thick southern accent, "This is how we do it here in Texas!"

Our ward is so great and was so welcoming and nice. Only having met the people in the ward once, I would feel comfortable enough to call at least 5 of the families if we needed help. I love nice people. It makes us want to be one of them.
Danny works in downtown Dallas in the Trammel Crow Building (photo below). They gave him the coveted corner desk right by the window. I was terrified the first day to drive him to work, but the freeways weren't bad at all. It's amazing, here in Texas people actually let you in when you signal. Utah could learn a thing or two.

So far Texas is living up to it's reputation. We feel blessed to have such a great opportunity.

Make my baby stop growing!

On September 28th Madison became two months old. Not fair. I spent 9 never ending months of hard work to get this baby here and now time has been stolen from me! I want it back. I don't want my baby to grow up. At least not yet.

At Madi's 2 month appointment:
Weight: 9 lbs 3 oz.
Length: 21 1/2 inches
Madi is in the 10th percentile
and her head is in the 5th percentile. She has a little head :)


Madison is the happiest baby first thing in the morning. All smiles. She loves to hear her own voice, so she talks a lot. Just recently Madi has learned that Mom and Dad respond when she cries, and she cries if we don't hold her. (We are fixing that asap!)

Madison loves her swing, She loves her binkie, she loves laying on her tummy, She loves it when you help her stand, and she loves to have her little piggies kissed. She also loves it when Grandpa Phil sings to her.

She doesn't like being naked, or having her clothes changed. She doesn't like being put into her car seat She doesn't like to be swaddled when she is not ready to go to sleep, she doesn't like immunization shots, or grape flavored children's Tylenol.




She is even cute when she cries :)

I am a horrible blogger - It's not my fault, It's yours. Everyone has such fun amazing blogs that I have become a blog stalker, instead of a blogger. Did you know that you can find incredible things on people's blogs like - recipes for the yummiest cupcakes, how to refashion your old clothes, all the recipes to Cafe Rio's delicious pork salad, and the list goes on and on...not to mention that you can read up on everybody else's lives. I love Blogs! (I would attach the links to these awesome blogs if I knew how, but I have not yet mastered the art of blogging)

I vow to be a better blogger.

A Mom at Home

School started and life changed. Daddy Danny isn't home very much and Mommy and Baby are home all day long! It's weird being a mom that just stays home (I am doing online classes, so I don't qualify as a "stay at home mom" quite yet) Madison and I just started our routine this last week. Madison wakes me up at 7 pretty much every morning, We eat breakfast and read our scriptures together and pray. By this time Madi is ready to go back to sleep just long enough to let mom work out and shower. Then school work begins. Madison is transferred from the bumbo (which is a little seat for babies that helps them sit up) to mom, to the swing, to mom, to the baby pack on mom, to her tummy and eventually back to sleep while mom does homework. We always try to spend some time outside in the sun and Madison LOVES it. She is so happy and content being on a blanket in the shade. She is getting so big and wants to look at everything. We can't wait for dad to get home every night and we always greet him with a big kiss, and a baby kiss.

It is an adjustment being home all day when I've always been at school or work full time for the past many years - but it is the beginning of some sweet Mommy time. I know once I get the hang of my routine I will love nothing more than to be at home with my babies.
